Our aim is to ensure all children are provided with an enjoyable and enriching experience as their happiness and wellbeing is our main priority. We do this by providing, a safe, welcoming and happy environment, where all children can grow in confidence and independence. We plan our environment to meet the individual needs of children and we ensure there are a range of stimulating, learning.
The Club has many varied activities and children have free access to all toys and resources. We provide a wide range of activities planned around the children’s interests and ideas, parent suggestions, current school topics and events. In line with the EYFS for Reception children we identify areas for development and support this with adult interactions. All activities are organised to cover the different ages and interests of the children in attendance.
Children are offered a daily healthy snack such as wholemeal toast and fresh fruit, etc. which is included in the session fee. We accommodate for any dietary requirements or allergies to food.
Children with special needs or a physical disability are welcome at Sneakers. We are committed to ensuring that the child’s individual needs are considered in relation to the club they wish to attend. We will work with parents, children and other professionals to try and accommodate any request for childcare and to ensure we provide the best care to meet each child/young person’s specific needs.
At Sneakers Childcare, we strongly believe in the importance of working together with Parents/Carers as you are your child’s first educator and the information you can provide is crucial to helping your child settle into nursery and to also support us with meeting your child’s individual needs. During your child’s time at Sneakers we will ask you to provide us with regular updates but please let us know when any change occurs including changes in your child’s routine so that we can work together to provide a consistent approach.
Sneakers Childcare have a strong, dedicated, helpful team of qualified and experienced staff who work closely together which is reflected in the club’s positive atmosphere.
The staff are always available to talk to you about anything that concerns you or your child’s time at the afterschool club.
We take our responsibility for safeguarding children very seriously and we ask that you support us in carrying out this important role, our concern is always for the safety and wellbeing of all children. At each club, we have a named Designated Safeguarding Lead who is supported by a range of fully trained deputies so that there is always a member of staff with this knowledge available.
All staff and volunteers at Sneakers Childcare have current DBS checks and all staff receives regular training around child protection issues.
Sneakers runs a staffing ratio of 1 adult to a maximum of 10 children for children aged under 8 and 1 adult to 15 children for those aged over 8. Our key person system enables us to build up trusting relationships with the children who attend.
Sneakers operate a waiting list for places and priority will be given to children requiring full time places/sessions over those requiring part-time places/sessions and to children with brothers or sisters already attending Sneakers. Children are eligible to attend Sneakers at Oakhill from when they start school until the day before their 13th birthday.
